Mr. Bayo Olanlege, the Chairman of the Ekiti State Football Association is in an appreciative mood as the executive committee of the association which he heads celebrate its 3rd year anniversary at the helms.
Olanlege and his board were elected at an EKSFA Elective Congress held on 28th May, 2019 at Benaiah Hotel, Ado Ekiti as supervised by Chairman of Chairmen Alhaji Ibrahim Shehu Gusau from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Olanlege reverenced the doggedness of his board members in the face of many hurdles on their way to achieving the goals set for football in Ekiti land when they were elected.
In his congratulatory message to the board, the FA boss in his words said, “thank you for your dexterity and determination, for staying through to your belief and your passion. Three years ago today, we were elected by the Ekiti State Football Association Congress to take Ekiti Football to a new height at an elective congress where the future of many young football talents was decided. As members of the Ekiti State FA EXCO, we have so many reasons to be grateful.”
He was further effusive in his praises for those who had immensely contributed to the administration, which is currently ranked arguably the best in Nigeria.
Olanlege said “It’s been three years of favor and grace, from the Grand Patron and our other patrons who have stood by us from day one, to all of the Congress members whose trust and vote of confidence have been our motivation.”
“Our sponsors, Hon. Akintunde Oyebode, his siblings and other members of his family, Rt. Hon. Femi Bamisile and his family, BET9JA and its Agents, Voice 89.9 FM and Sports Writers Association of Nigeria , Advisers and friends, we appreciate you and expect that you continue to stay with us as we journey through the last year of our tenure.” the FA Chairman added.
While encouraging them not to relent on their efforts, BoyoMay as fondly called by close associates, recalled some of the pains suffered on the road.
“Together, we have weathered many storms, we have slept on the cold floor in a correctional center for our belief in youth development through sports. We visit the courtroom every other month when all we do is try to make the football ecosystem better.”
He maintained that these should be the motivating drive to achieve more in the last lap of the administration.
